I love my amazing state, but it does have this one flaw, we don't have a fall. Okay let me rephrase that, we do have a fall, but we only have fall weather for about a week. Mr. Louisiana just decided that he would just skip over that season. But for the one or two weeks that we do have fall this is what I love about it...
Hoodies, well duh! Hot cocoa, Yes! Boots, does cowboy boots count? Jeans, oh yeah I couldn't live without them. Cuddling, well I don't really know why that one's on here. Crisp air, whooo hooo! Goodbye humidity! Flushed cheeks, I can't really say that I like this one, but you get the point.
Okay so we might take our game a little seriously. I'm really the only one in my family that is really in to the whole football thing, but I love our fighting tigers!
I'm ready for long sleeves and plaid. I love plaid. :)
I hope that you are enjoying your weather! Have a happy fall!
If you only knew how many pieces of paper I have used to jot down my long term "to do" list in the dark hours of night whilst (yes, I did just use that word) listening to Squirt breathing. Somehow the papers vanish in thin air, or I toss them, but I won't talk about that. Maybe if I have them written down on something that I can't toss in the trash can I will remember what I would like to accomplish. So here is the list of things that never get completed.
1. Be a better person. (Yeah, I know, its kinda dumb that I need to remind myself of this, but its true.)
2. Keep calm. (As I've said before, I have awful keeping calm skills."Keep calm and carry on", yeah that should be my motto.)
3. Read my Bible every day. (I usually do this one, but I still need to be reminded.)
4. Don't say everything that's on my mind. (I tell everyone everything that has happened to me every time that I see them or have a chance to talk to them. And I've noticed that no one really cares, that's what I have a blog for. :)
5. Act older than my age. (This one is kind of weird but its true. I only act like every other peer of mine, I should be more mature than that!)
6. Be a better friend. (I know for a fact that I am a great friend, but one can always improve.)
7. Treat others as others have treated me. (This one is also a little strange. When I went to work at the camp this summer the people there (all of them at least 2 yrs older than me) treated me as if I mattered. I need to do that to the people that are a few years younger than me.)
Today was...well...mostly...just like every other day. School started bright and early at 4:00am, yes I typed that correctly 4:00am, as in 4 in the morning, yes while its still dark. After a family devotion during breakfast school began. After that it was just loungin', and then we picked up some hand-me-downs from some family friends for my little man. Yep, just a normal day.
Yes, this is what Squirt and me do when I babysit her. Besides lounging around and watching Little House on the Prairie while eating tortilla chips, we "clean" up our room, and take pictures like these. :) I love my little sista.
Navy. The color. I don't know why, but for the past week I've been in love with everything navy blue. Random, I know.
Making Paracord Bracelets. I organized a this craft at Little Brother #1's birthday party, and I've loved it ever since. I'm too cheap to buy any more cord, but the few that I made are plenty. I can't complain because I did it to myself, but if hashtags mattered on blogger mine would be #blisters and #ouch.
Organizing. Okay so this isn't my favorite, but I have been thinking about it a lot lately. My grandmother is moving very soon, (and I'm helping her move in) so I've been thinking of ideas on how to organize her stuff.
Three years ago a newlywed couple was looking for a church...
They stayed at ours, became members, and had two children (with one on the way)...
This little cutie was the first baby that I ever shot :)...
This is the first family that I ever shot :)...
And this is the "good-bye" party that our church had for them. *sigh* They are moving about 45 minutes away and aren't going to be able to come to our church anymore. :( It was a very bittersweet day. Not only have I done a few shoots with them I have also became very good friends with them. I'm so happy that God is moving in their life, but I we are all going to miss them terribly.
I'm going to miss y'all terribly. I'm so happy for y'all (for the house and the new little one on the way). :) Thanks for being such good friends and great role models. I love y'all very much and I hope that I can see y'all soon.
One of my many flaws is patience. When it comes to my brothers and sisters especially. When they nag, and nag, and nag some more I have a very hard time being that "calm, good role model" big sister. I know people always joke about asking God to help you to learn patience because that means that He's just going to give you a situation where you have to have patience, but i did it anyway. I asked for help with this problem of mine.
God didn't have to change my situation with the younger siblings because they always nag, but He did give me someone that makes you wait for EVERYTHING! And so in turn I'm learning to have patience with the kids, and with the very annoying person. I'm getting there, slowly but surely, I'm getting there.
As I've mentioned before I'm the oldest of 4 kids. Little sister #1 (one and only rather) aka Squirt, follows me EVERYWHERE I go! Its crazy, she even follows me to the bathroom! I have got to find ways to make her see that I'm not that interesting. I love her and the other munchkins that follow me everywhere, but sometimes I just need a break. :)
So like I've most likely said before, I'm a planner. I plan EVERYTHING way sooner than it needs to be. So my sweet 16 (which is in February) I've already started planning for. Pinterest is at fault though. :) There are some of my ideas...
Balloons on a string with glow sticks in them.
And we have to have this party pack of glowsticks.
The invites that I'm getting.
Glow-in-the-dark chalk, for the driveway!
We're buying one of these!
And even though its going to be winter time these will still look cool floating on top of the pool.
Yeah, so, I like kid games. :)
The cake I want.
I'm having the party at a family friend's huge house. They have a HUGE burn-pile that they are saving for my party and I'm having a HUGE bonfire! (With s'mores of course :)
