Nom: Pineapple Upsidedown Cake

2:00 PM

I love to bake. I can't cook worth a lick, but sweetie I can bake you a cake. (sorry for the slight doctor who reference.) Anywho...our oven has been out of commission for quite some time now which made this girl very sad. We couldn't use it at all. However, my daddy ended up fixing it so now my sweet shop is back in business!

This is the first of a new series of installments "See Grace Bake". I'm pretty excited about it!

My mom had told me about a recipe that someone had posted on facebook. She said that it seemed pretty easy so I stopped by the store and picked up the few ingredients that I needed. Which were...

eggs (for cake mix)
oil (for cake mix)
box of yellow cake mix
brown sugar
pineapple slices
walnut pieces (optional)

I don't ever follow directions or ingredients for that matter. Sometimes that works out, and sometimes not so much. This was my tweaked recipe/directions.

spread 1/4 cup of butter on the bottom of your pan.

spread 1 cup of brown sugar on the bottom and kinda mix the butter and the brown sugar together.

put pan in oven on 325 just until the butter is melted and there is a glorious sauce like substance at the bottom of your pan.

while that is in the oven...mix your cake mix together

place pineapple slices and walnut pieces on top of the butter/brown sugar sauce.

then pour in cake batter

pop in the oven still on 325 for 40mins or until you poke it with a toothpick and nothing sticks on it. :)

enjoy your slice of heaven.
